Made cooperatively by groups of artisans, these shallow rugged bowl-shaped baskets are formed with coils of sweet grass wound with raffia, fibers from the palm tree. Both beautiful and practical, each intricately designed pattern is one of a kind and makes a good choice for use on your table or on display. They may be wiped clean with a damp cloth.

The tribes around Kampala, Uganda make their baskets from a thicker bundle of fibers than those in the West, giving them a thicker and chunkier look. They typically use bright colored raffia. While our other Kampala baskets have a loop allowing them to be hung, this basket does not include a loop.
